The IYA teachings, techniques and forms are accessible to anyone, even beginners, regardless of age, physical condition, previous experience or religious beliefs.

Course Content

The course consists of the following practices drawn from the great Hathayogic, Taoist and Shamanic traditions. The central theme of the talks relates to the essential aim of the internal arts - the nurturing and evolution of our spiritual potential.

Group relaxation excercise to determine exactly where tension is held within the body and to develop intuitive skills.

Talk: The Five Principles of the Internal Arts

The five natural principles that, manifest in any activity but especially within the yogic arts, will allow us to gain access to the deeper levels of our being.

Grounding & Centering

Excercises and postures to root to the earth, create incredible stability and "cool" the mind.

Talk: Energetic Anatomy

The energy centres and channels of the subtle body.

Wuji Qi Gong

Ancient Taoist yoga flowing form also called "enlightenment tai chi" and "primordial qi gong." Outdoor practice if possible.

Talk: Inner Yogic Alchemy

The ancients believed that nature had hidden her secrets within the human body. The great work of the masters was to harness and refine the potency of the physical body (the lead) into a higher energy (the gold) through which to feed and enliven the soul.

Sensing Prana, Chi, Ki

Individual and group excercises to sensitize to subtle energy.

Microcosmic Orbit Meditation

Balancing the chakras and nadis (centres and channels) of the subtle body for optimal health.

Bliss Meditation & Serene Smile
